Clinical Study for Diabetic Retinopathy

We are currently enrolling for:
Diabetic Retinopathy Clinical Trials
The FOCUS trial is to establish the long-term effects of semaglutide on diabetic retinopathy in subjects with type 2 diabetes using validated and standard ophthalmic assessments. The trial will assess the effects of semaglutide compared to placebo. Diabetic Retinopathy is a complication of diabetes that causes damage to the retina of the eyes. This complication could cause blindness. Diabetic retinopathy can develop in type 1 and type 2 diabetes. Find out more about our clinical research for diabetic retinopathy in Philadelphia.

Diabetic Retinopathy Symptoms
Symptoms can include blurry vision, impaired color vision, spots floating in your vision and vision loss. High blood sugar can block the blood vessels in the retina, causing decreased or no blood supply to the eye. There are many risk factors for diabetic retinopathy. Some of these risk factors include high blood pressure, high cholesterol, duration of diabetes and poor control of blood sugar.
You can help prevent diabetic retinopathy by monitoring your blood sugars and monitoring your blood pressure and cholesterol. An eye exam is completed along with other test for diagnosis of diabetic retinopathy.
